Grey Road Partners is pleased to announce that Michael Kanovsky has joined the firm as a Partner and Senior Advisor.
Michael brings decades of experience as an operator, investor, and board member across many industries in Canada. He is the founder and CEO of Sky Energy Corp., and has served as a co-founder, founding director, and founding shareholder of several companies including Northstar Energy Corp., ARC Resources Ltd., North American Oil Sands Ltd., Bonavista Petroleum Ltd., and Seven Generations Energy Ltd. Michael has also held board positions with Devon Energy Corporation, TransAlta Corporation, Pure Technologies Ltd., and Precision Drilling Inc. In addition to his success in the resource sector, Michael has made significant contributions to the renewable power, real estate, marinas and senior healthcare industries.
Michael is a Director Emeritus of the Advisory Board of the Ivey School of Business and the Founder and Director of the Kanovsky Family Foundation, established in 2004. His community service includes serving as Patron’s Council Member for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, Vice Chair of the Alberta Children's Hospital Board and Alberta Chair of the Young Presidents Organization.
As a Partner and Senior Advisor, Michael will support Grey Road’s investment activities by providing strategic counsel, industry insight, and operating perspective as the firm continues to partner with founders and entrepreneurs to build enduring middle-market businesses across North America.
